Light Bulbs create Safety and beauty
What would our world be without light? Yes, we have the magnificent light from the sun. Yet, there are many days that the clouds, smog and our own walls keeps us from seeing that light. Then there is the night. Night means darkness, except for the stars and sometimes the moon.
For those above reasons, man has turned to lamps, lights and light bulbs to create his/her own world. These not only chase away the darkness, they help create environments that are safer as well as a more beautiful place.
First, lets look at some ways light and light bulbs create safety for us.
Could you imagine walking on a darken street without those street lamps to light your way?
What about your car? Wouldn't it be useless at night without those headlights (smaller forms of light bulbs).
Now imagine your own yard, porch or area without those wonderful lights. You may have a light fixture attached to the side of your house. You may have security lights around your yard that have motion sensors. You may even have a large pole where a huge light sits atop. All of these takes one sort of light bulb.
Then there is the small light bulb that sits in our flashlight. It may be small but when no other light is around, it can illuminate our world enough to keep us from tripping or to shine or way home.
As for the beauty aspect lights create, you know you can dim your lights to create a romantic scene. But that isn't all that they can do.
They can illuminate your garden (small light bulbs, even those made for solar lights).
They can come in several colors to change the mood or look of a room (especially popular for bedrooms).
They can come in small candle type lights that are safer (no real flame or fire, ran from batteries or electric).
They can be placed in fish tanks to create a new world. (Be sure to use only the lights that come and can be bought for these tanks to avoid fire hazards).
When looking for a light bulb to buy, you will find that you have several options. Your first option is the size. These ranges from 15 amps all the way up to 100 and more. The best way to decide what size you need, is to decide how the bulb will be used. You should also check and read all instructions that comes with lights or lighting sources. Some may state a particular size or a particular size range to use.
Next option is the type of bulb. You may want to go green and buy an energy efficient bulb. These may cost more at first. But most of these will last you longer. This means you won't have to buy them as often and thus you are saving money. These bulbs will generally use less energy to burn, saving you more money.
If you don't want to go the energy saving route, you may want to buy a bulb that states it has softer lighting opposed to the normal type of bulb.
You may also want to buy a bulb that is shattered resistant. This is great with homes with children or clumsy people.
What about warranties? Yes, you can buy some bulbs that comes with a warranty, stating how long it should last and if it doesn't live up to that standard, you can get your money refunded. Many energy efficient light bulbs will come with this claim.
Another thing savvy shoppers will look for when shopping for lights and light bulbs is how they will accent their home. They will think about which rooms will look better with the softer lighting and which rooms that may need more light (example may be the kitchen). They may also look for light bulbs they can use in light fixtures that can be placed throughout the house. These types of fixtures, generally will take the smallest of bulbs. They may not produce a lot of light or even workable light. But they do create or set a nice, relaxing mood.
No matter the size or the use of the light bulb, it is definitely one thing all homes must have. Why not try to get the most of your money when buying these and most out of the bulb, by using your imagination and trying different types and sizes throughout your home and yard.
